Thai authorities have arrested a Nigerian national suspected of leading a major cocaine trafficking network operating across Thailand and other parts of Southeast Asia in what officials described as a dramatic late-night enforcement operation.
The suspect, identified as Ikenna Azubuike, 36, was apprehended on Tuesday outside a luxury condominium on Rama III Road in Bangkok’s Yannawa district during a police operation reportedly codenamed “Clipping the Wings of the Dodorima Boss.”
According to local reports, including the Bangkok Post, law enforcement officers had been monitoring the suspect as part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged international drug trafficking syndicate believed to be involved in the distribution of cocaine across the region.
Authorities said the arrest took a dramatic turn when Azubuike allegedly attempted to evade capture by forcing his vehicle through a police blockade. Officers quickly intervened, stopping the vehicle and taking him into custody without further incident.
Investigators believe the suspect, popularly referred to as the “Dodorima Boss,” played a key role in coordinating cocaine shipments into Thailand and managing elements of a wider transnational drug network.
