The Delta State Police Command has made significant progress in its investigation into the controversial Mene Ogidi and Usman Nuhu Ogbegbe case, arresting four suspects and uncovering what investigators describe as an alleged chain of firearm transactions linked to the incident.

Police sources revealed that five individuals have so far been connected to the investigation, but only four have been taken into custody. A fifth suspect, identified as Desmond, remains at large and is currently being sought by law enforcement authorities.

According to investigators, the breakthrough came after detectives traced the movement of a Beretta pistol allegedly connected to the case.

Preliminary findings suggest that the firearm was originally acquired by a suspect identified as Amadi Felix before being sold to Amadi Princewill for ₦200,000. Princewill allegedly resold the weapon to Emmanuel Chukwuemeka for ₦290,000.

Investigators further allege that Emmanuel later transferred the firearm to Desmond, making a profit of approximately ₦90,000 on the transaction.

The development has provided police with what sources describe as a clearer picture of how the weapon allegedly moved through multiple hands before ending up with individuals now central to the investigation.

Among those arrested is Clifford, Emmanuel’s roommate. Police sources claim Clifford became implicated after investigators discovered that Emmanuel allegedly used Clifford’s mobile phone to communicate with individuals involved in the purchase and sale of the firearm.

As a result, both men were arrested alongside Amadi Felix and Amadi Princewill while investigators continue to examine the roles played by each suspect.

Desmond, however, remains the missing piece in the investigation. Authorities believe he may possess critical information that could help establish the full circumstances surrounding the case and have launched efforts to track and apprehend him.

The arrests mark a major step forward in an investigation that has attracted widespread public attention across Delta State and beyond.

Police have not yet announced formal charges against all suspects, and authorities emphasize that investigations remain ongoing. The suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Meanwhile, security agencies have appealed to members of the public with useful information regarding Desmond’s whereabouts to come forward as efforts continue to unravel the full details behind the case.
